Summer Movies

Hello there all,

Summer is here: the time for adventures,  reminiscing, and new opportunities.  There is something optimistic and exciting about Summer movies.  Afterwards,  I always want to hit the road and spend time with my lovelies.  Throughout the years, I have watched many movies that embrace these emotions. Here are my top ten favorite:

1.) The Sandlot One of my favorites with some of the best lines from a movie ever. Also, I can't go a Fourth of July without watching this scene from the movie.

2.) Now and Then This one is probably my favorite. I've loved it since it came out in 1995. It spoke so strongly to growing up as a girl, and I love that I can still relate to it.

3.) Dirty Dancing This movie is such a corny romantic movie, and I still love it. I can't help it.

4.) Wet, Hot American Summer Just saw this movie for the first time a couple of months ago, and it was absolutely hilarious. I hadn't laughed that much watching a movie for awhile. WATCH IT!

5.) Almost Famous So, I am noticing that most of these movies are set in a different decade. I can't help it. This one is equally as amazing. I'm such an old soul.

6.) Stand By Me I always kind of think of this as the Now and Then for boys. I just am a sucker for a group of friends growing up in the past I guess.

7.) Heavyweights This movie was kind of a staple in my household growing up. It is a wonderful summer camp movie that always made me laugh as a kid. Now, I just get kind of nostalgic for how wonderfully 90s it is.

8.) How to Make an American Quilt I've also read this book, and I just really love how it pieces together various different stories from a whole other generation. Told you: old soul.
9.) Into the Wild This is the only movie that doesn't actually take place just in Summertime, but it has such a sense of adventure and takes place after the main character graduates college. I've also read the book which was wonderful.

10.) The Goonies Maybe it is because I am an Oregonian, but Goonies is a perfect summer movie. It teams up adventure with the closeness of friends and some gorgeous scenery.

Now, let me know: what are your favorite summer movies? Which ones do you agree with? Which ones did I miss?
